Yesterday, we drove into Montana, just to get out and get a change of scenery. The area we went to doesn’t get nearly as much snow as we do, so their snow disappears a little more quickly. We went to a lake that was starting to thaw, and as the kids walked around, they began to find bare patches of ground. Pretty soon, it was like discovering spring. All the little plants, little shoots of green, little baby pines…each was a sign of hope and new life. It struck me, all of this new life and love just under the snow…sometimes we forget that it’s there. There are times in our lives when we are losing faith or don’t know what to do or how to find hope, but we have to remember that there is spring to be found, just under the snow.
