Most people dread winter. It’s cold, dark, and gloomy. I believe that the seasons can often symbolize seasons in our lives, as well. The adoption waiting period is so much like winter, both for us as hopeful parents, and, I’m sure, for you as a birth mom, as well. It can be scary, not knowing what is going to happen or how to make everything work out right.

But winter doesn’t have to be terrible. It’s hard and a lot of work, but it can also be full of happiness as we go out and seek for the light and the good.

Our winter is starting to wane. The snow is melting and the sun is more bright. I hope that, for both of us, we can find each other and help one another through this remaining winter time in the process of adoption, and go together toward a brighter spring.
